Mission
Mission Statement

Antonio Santamaria  (1930-2013) was a pioneer and leading voice of psychoanalysis in Mexico and Latin America. A member of APM (Mexican Psychoanalytic Association), the IPA (International Psychoanalytical Association) and FEPAL (Latin American Federation of Psychoanalysis), he helped in the founding and development of many psychoanalytic and psychotherapy societies around the country. He was devoted to psychoanalysis, passionate about culture and learning and much loved and sought after as a supervisor and teacher.

The Antonio Santamaria Foundation was created as a free-standing, independent psychoanalytic educational foundation in his memory to honor and continue his love of psychoanalytic learning, his dedication to the continuing education of practicing clinicians and his commitment to the future of psychoanalysis.

Our goal is to create international opportunities for psychoanalytic study, learning and discussion in an open, free thinking milieu, outside of the context of organized psychoanalytic institutions and training centers. To that end, we plan to offer seminars, conferences and other learning and study opportunities  (in English and Spanish) with internationally prominent psychoanalysts, who are among the leading clinical and theoretical contributors to our field. We hope that you will join us in what we believe will be an exciting and worthwhile adventure!
